Verified Credentials Awarded MHEC Contract to Expand Access to Background Screening and Student Compliance Solutions

MHEC Blog Header WebP

Verified Credentials, a provider of employment background screening and student compliance solutions, has been awarded a contract with MHEC, New England’s premier group purchasing consortium.

Through the agreement, eligible MHEC members will have access to Verified Credentials’ background screening and student compliance solutions, exclusive MHEC member pricing, and a high-touch service model through MHEC’s publicly bid purchasing contract.

The agreement provides higher education institutions, K–12 schools, municipalities, libraries, and other education-focused nonprofit organizations with a streamlined way to procure Verified Credentials solutions while reducing the time and administrative resources associated with conducting a separate solicitation.

A Partnership Built Around Service

The relationship brings together MHEC’s personalized approach to procurement with Verified Credentials’ high-touch approach to background screening and student compliance.

For organizations managing employees, students, or both, screening and compliance needs rarely end when an order is placed. Questions arise. Requirements change. Individual cases need attention. Administrators, candidates, and students may need guidance along the way.

Verified Credentials combines technology with direct access to experienced people who can help. Every client has a dedicated account manager who understands their organization, program requirements, and goals. Behind the scenes, experienced teams provide detailed case management and hands-on support to help keep screening and compliance processes moving.

The result is a service model designed to give MHEC members responsive, personalized support for both day-to-day needs and more complex situations.

Solutions for Employment Screening and Student Compliance

MHEC members can access Verified Credentials solutions to support a wide range of organizational needs.

Employment background screening helps organizations build screening programs around their workforce requirements, with access to criminal record searches, employment and education verifications, drug testing, motor vehicle records, occupational health services, and other screening solutions.

For colleges, universities, and other organizations managing student requirements, Verified Credentials Scholar® provides a centralized way to manage student background checks, immunizations, certifications, drug testing, documentation, and other program requirements.

Administrators can gain visibility across multiple programs while individual programs maintain the flexibility to establish their own requirements, workflows, and deadlines. Students receive step-by-step guidance, automated reminders, and access to support throughout the process.

Together, these solutions give MHEC members the opportunity to support both student and workforce populations through a single screening provider.

White-Glove Support at Every Step

Technology can simplify screening and compliance, but responsive service makes the difference when an organization needs help.

Verified Credentials has built its service model around accessibility, accountability, and long-term client relationships. MHEC members working with Verified Credentials can expect:

  • A dedicated account manager who knows their organization and serves as a consistent resource for questions, program changes, and ongoing needs.
  • 100% U.S.-based support and operations, providing direct access to experienced teams familiar with the screening and compliance process.
  • Direct phone support without a complicated phone tree, helping clients quickly connect with a real person when they need assistance.
  • Detailed case management for individual questions and situations requiring additional attention, research, or follow-through.
  • Hands-on implementation and ongoing support to help organizations establish and maintain programs that work for their administrators, candidates, and students.

This approach gives MHEC members more than access to screening technology. It provides an experienced team that remains accessible throughout the relationship.

"We are excited to partner with MHEC and have our employment screening and student compliance solutions available to its members,” said Benjamin Stewart, Vice President of Sales at Verified Credentials. “MHEC puts a strong emphasis on personalized service and value for its members, which aligns closely with how we serve our clients. From exclusive member pricing to dedicated account management and responsive U.S.-based support, we look forward to making screening and compliance easier to manage for organizations across New England.”

Exclusive Member Value with a Streamlined Path to Procurement

Through the MHEC contract, eligible members receive exclusive pricing on Verified Credentials solutions along with a more efficient path to procurement.

MHEC develops and manages publicly bid contracts designed to help members save time, money, and resources. By accessing Verified Credentials through an established MHEC contract, members can reduce the administrative burden associated with conducting an independent solicitation while still building a screening or student compliance program around the needs of their organization.

Verified Credentials is available through MHEC Contract MC21-S04 – Human Capital Solutions.

MHEC members can connect with Verified Credentials to learn more about available solutions, exclusive member pricing, and implementation options.
